Tooth whitening on repaired tooth. will it be effective?

half of one of my front teeth is fake as the result of a rugby accident. it was repaired by placing some kind of substance on it which was hardened using UV. i'm going to have my teeth whitened, but wonder if the treatment will be ineffective on this fake section. my teeth are already okay in colour, im just looking to brighten them a little. thanks.
