Post Bradmanesque years with the bat, how has Ponting performed compared to Tendulkar (2007 - present) ?

He's not been burdened with captaining an inconsistent side that is struggling to live up to the records set by their immediate predecessors. Tendulkar's stats over the last two years are impressive, but Ponting almost matches them, and he has to cope with being in the firing line all the time too. Tendulkar just needs to bat, stand where his captain wants him in the field, and occasionally turn his arm over. And of course avoid all the sycophantism from his one billion fans, who will no doubt be calling for his head after a run of poor form, as they were after the debacle in Sri Lanka last year, when he averaged 15.
