How many people will survive after the earth pes the galactic equator?

The Mayan calendar ends on Dec. 21, 2012. They predicted that when the calendar ends the earth will change. This date coincides with the astronimical event when the earth will be in line with the sun and the center of our galaxy (the milky way). At the center of our galaxy is a black hole, the most destructive and strongest force known to scientists. When Earth aligns with these to strong cosmic entities what will happen to people and the planet?
